Cambridge, MA - Nationally twelfth ranked Hartwick was in action today for a pair of CWPA games. In the first game the Hawks defeated Bucknell University 12-5. In the second game the Hawks cruised past George Washington University 20-10 completing their sweep of the day's matches.
In the first game, it remained close after the first period with 'Wick holding onto a slight lead of 3-2. In the second period, the Hawks began to pull away leading 6-3 at the half. In the third, the Hawks margin continued to grow with a lead of 8-4 going into the final period. In the fourth, 'Wick would score four more goals and go on to win 12-5.

Lena Kotanchyan (Moscow, Russia / Elk Island School) led the Hawks in scoring with three goals.
Zsofia Polak (Dunaujvaros, Hungary / Rudas H.S.) and
L.J. Edwards (Encinitas, CA / Cathedral Catholic H.S.) each had two goals apiece.
Lauren Brennan (Canberra, Australia / St. Clares College),
Sarah Lewis (La Jolla, CA / Cathedral Catholic H.S.),
Katie McKenty (Auckland, New Zealand / Takapuna Grammar School),
Charlotte Cottle (Sydney, Australia / Presbyterian Ladies College), and
Becca Lelles (Boulder City, NV / Boulder City H.S.) each had a lone goal to round out scoring.

In the second game, the Hawks jumped out a quick 8-2 lead after the first period. Wick' would continue to outscore the Colonials over the next three periods and go on to win by ten goals.

L.J. Edwards led the Hawks in scoring with five goals apiece against the Colonials.
Tori Wilson (Kitchener, ON / Grand River Collegiate Institute) and Lelles had two goals apiece. Cottle scored a lone goal for the Hawks.
Josette Santos (Huntington Beach, CA / Edison H.S.) had four saves in goal against George Washington. Â
The Hawks will be in action tomorrow for a pair CWPA league matches against No. 15 Princeton University at 10:30 a.m. and No. 22 Harvard University at 4:45 p.m. in Cambridge Massachusetts. Â
