ONEONTA, N.Y. – Three members of the Hartwick Hawks Football team were recognized by the Empire 8 on Thursday as All-Conference performers.
Nate Rath (Newport, N.Y.) was named to the First Team as a wide receiver. Rath led the Hawks in receiving with 794 yards on 49 catches. Those statistics also placed him third in the Empire 8. The senior also led the team in scoring with 7 touchdowns including a season long 63-yard scoring catch in Hartwick's win at home over Keystone. This is Rath's second Empire 8 selection after receiving Third Team honors last year.
Owen Lawler (Enfield, Conn.) and
Nelon Priest (Schenectady, N.Y.) rounded out Hartwick's selections as both were named Third Team Defense/Special Teams. Lawler and Priest anchored the Hawks' defense all season in the secondary. The two combined for 7 interceptions and 58 total tackles. Priest tied for the Empire 8 lead in interceptions with four. Lawler was close behind with three, one of which he took for a 30-yard return. The return was fifth best in the Empire 8.

Noah Hurt (West Harford, Conn.) was recognized as Hartwick's representative on the Empire 8 Sportsman of the Year Team. This award goes to a player on each team that exemplifies what it means to compete with honor and integrity which is an essential component of a student-athlete's experience within the conference and their own individual institutions.
