ONEONTA, N.Y. – The Hartwick Hawks Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field will begin competition at the Empire 8 Championships this afternoon at host institution, Nazareth College.
Ashley Neier (Whitesboro, N.Y.) will kick off the competition in the field events for the Hawks in the women's long jump finals. Corey Quomoney (Aberdeen, Md.) will be participating later in the evening in the men's long jump finals.
The running events are slated to begin at 3 PM with the 60m hurdles for the women's pentathalon. Other pentathlon event start times will be announced by officials.
Giovanna Wall (West Hurley, N.Y.) will be representing Hartwick in the event.
The men's 60m dash time trials begin at 4:30 PM with Quomony and
Patrick Conteh (Salisbury, Md.) running for the Hawks.
The final events of the day will feature
Ashley Tricarico (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) running in the women's 400m dash final,
Brynita Haas (Red Creek, N.Y.) and
Maddy Smith (Oneonta, N.Y.) running the women's 5,000m, and Tricarico, Hass, Smith, and
Sophie Ridgway (Albany, N.Y.) running the women's distance medley relay.
The meet will wrap up on Saturday. The event order will be release as it becomes available.
