ONEONTA, N.Y. – The Hartwick College Athletic Communications Department has hired Victor Fernandez Jr. as the new Assistant Sports Information Director and Athletic Office Assistant.
Fernandez comes to Hartwick from Army West Point Athletic Association where he served as a facility operator and recreation assistant. Prior to his work at West Point he worked at SUNY Delhi as the Game Day Operations Assistant.
During his time at SUNY Delhi as an undergraduate, Fernandez was a Sports Information Intern, assisting the Sports Information Director with all aspects of Athletic Communications.
Victor's primary role will be within Athletic Communications where he will assist current Director of Athletic Communications, Brittany Stroop in daily operations of sports information including but not limited to website maintenance, social media posts, game day management, and writing post-game recaps.

"He came highly recommended from SUNY Delhi and he stood out among other candidates with not only his athletics communication experience, but also his diverse background in athletic operations. Victor has all the tools to help us continue to take athletic communications to the next level as we strive to highlight the achievements of our student-athletes, teams and coaches to the best of our ability."
As an Athletic Office Assistant, Fernandez will work with Associate Athletic Director, Betty Powell with daily operations of the department including compliance and academic tracking.
"I am happy to have Victor join the Hartwick College Athletics Department staff and look forward to working with him to provide support for our student-athletes, coaching, support, and administrative staff," said Powell.

Fernandez will begin his duties at Hartwick on August 1.
