ONEONTA, N.Y. - The Hartwick swimming and diving teams faced off against the SUNY Brockport Golden Eagles in dual meet action, with the women's team falling 101-193 in team scoring.

HOW IT HAPPENED
In the diving events, Brockport dominated in both the 1-meter and the 3-meter dive, though Anabelle Lindsay (Hudson Falls, N.Y.) would claim second place in both events.
The 200 yard medley relay saw Hartwick placing second with a team made up of Cassidy Payrot (Cicero, NY), Min-Syun Chen (Saratoga Spring, N.Y.), Aubrey Vaile (Wesley Chapel, Fla.), and Anna Bischoff (Oneonta, N.Y.). Chen would later return to the pool to sweep the breaststroke events.
Despite taking third in the 200 free and second in the 500 free, Cate Russo (San Pedro, Cal.) would claim yet another victory in the 1000 yard freestyle– an event she has shined in this season– while Katie Vieira (South Windsor, Conn.) would follow up to take third.
In the backstroke events, Payrot would return to the pool and finish third in the 100 yard backstroke, while the 200 yard backstroke saw a second place finish from Kate Gucciardi (Cicero, N.Y.).
Vaile would also continue a good day for the Hawks with second place finishes in the 50 and 100 yard freestyle events.
The butterfly events were a struggle for the Hawks, though junior Danielle DeCarlo (Whitesboro, N.Y.) was a bright spot for the Royal Blue and White, clocking in at 2:26.48 to finish second in the 200 yard butterfly event. She would also claim a second place finish in the 200 IM, clocking in just before Chen.
The day ended with a third place finish for the Hawks in the 200 yard freestyle relay, with Vaile, Gucciardi, Vieira and Russo clocking in only .01 second behind the Brockport second place team.
