Women's Tennis Set To Open NCAA Tournament vs TCNJ at Bowdoin College

ONEONTA, N.Y. - The Hartwick Hawks Women's Tennis program will head to Brunswick, Maine for the first round of the 2024-25 NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championship Tournament, hosted by Bowdoin College.

 

The Hawks punched their ticket to the NCAA Tournament after posting yet another dominant season, securing a flawless Empire 8 conference record for the third consecutive season. Hartwick enjoyed a 10-1 regular season before cruising through the Empire 8 Championship Tournament, defeating the Sage Gators 5-1 in the semifinal round before defeating new conference foe Geneseo, with a 5-0 sweep.
 

Lily Vanuga (Springville, N.Y.) was named the Tournament MVP for her contributions, posting a flawless record in her four matches. First year standout Alexandra Krasinska (Pine Island, N.Y.) earned Player of the Year honors as well as earning the inaugural honor of the Empire 8 Doubles Team of the Year, sharing this honor with Phoebe Olson (Jamestown, N. Dak.).

 

The Royal Blue and White played a tough spring schedule in preparation for the championship tournament, going 2-2 with victories of Misericordia and crosstown foe, Oneonta, capping off their regular season with an impressive 14-3 record.

 

Coach Butcher's squad will prepare to face off against the New Jersey Athletic Conference Champions, The College of New Jersey on Friday, May 9th at 2PM at Bowdoin College. This will be the first time the two programs will matchup with each other on the tennis courts, the Lions posted a 12-6 record, going 4-0 in conference to book their 29th consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament. 
 

Depending on weather conditions, the match may be pushed indoors and moved to a 4:30 PM start, if outdoors, the matches will be recorded. Follow along with the links provided below.
