UTICA, NY – The Hartwick Men's Indoor Track & Field team was in action today at the Utica College Invitational hosted by Utica College. The team finished tenth out of eleven teams in team scoring.
           
Sophomore Mark Garceau (Lebanon, NJ/North Hunterdon) finished fourth in 5000m with a season best time of 17:18.91. Sophomore Omar Nelson (Oneonta, NY/Oneonta) finished twenty-first in the 800m in a season best time of 2:11.11 and forty-sixth in the mile with a time of 5:13.50.
           
Freshman Azyhkei Allen (Latham, NY/Shaker) placed twenty-second in the shot put with a throw of 9.66 meters. Senior captain Nate Benjamin (Vestal, NY/Vestal) was thirty-second in the 60m dash in a time of 7.90, fifty-second in the 200m in 26.17, and twenty-seventh in long jump with a mark of 5.10 meters.
           
Sophomore Sean Waltman (Sayre, PA/Athens) finished seventeenth in the 60m hurdles in a season best time of 10.49. Freshman Chisomaga Emeh (Lagos, Nigeria/Jesuit Memorial College) took fifty-sixth in the 200m in a time of 27.79 and thirty-first in the 400m in 1:07.84. Junior captain Harry Helinski (Johnsburg, NY/Johnsburg) finished thirtieth in the 800m in a season best time of 2:16.45 and forty-fourth in the mile with a season best time of 5:03.58. Freshman Ethan Lee (Tillson, NY/John A. Coleman) was thirty-second in the 800m in a time of 2:38.86.
           
The men's 4x200m relay team composed of Benjamin, Nelson, Chisomaga, and Waltman finished second in a time of 1:47.96, setting a new school record.
           
The Hawks will next be in action on Saturday February 8 at the Blue and Orange Invitational & Multi hosted by Utica College in Utica, NY.
