Cortland, NY- The Hartwick Men's Outdoor Track & Field team was in action today at the SUNY Cortland Upstate Alternative Meet. The meet was hosted by SUNY Cortland at the SUNY Cortland Stadium Complex. The Hawks fought through temperatures in the low 40s and intermittent rain showers.
Sophomore
Armani Banton (Beacon, NY/Marlboro) finished fourth in the high jump with a jump of 1.70 meters. Freshman
Corey Quomony (Aberdeen, MD/Bel Air) finished fifteenth in long jump with a season best jump of 5.23 meters. Senior
Caleb Mallery (Endicott, NY/Union Endicott) finished ninth in the 5000m with a time of 16:53.17. Sophomore
Ross Arvin (Richmondville, NY/Cobleskill-Richmondville) finished eighteenth in the shot put with a throw of 9.35 meters and twenty-third in the discus with a toss of 23.47 meters.
Sophomore
Joe Catalano (Chester, NY/Chester) finished ninth in the 400m with a time of 55.55. Freshman
Aidan Freda (Westtown, NY/Minisink Valley) finished sixth in the 3000m steeplechase in a new personal best time of 11:44.69. Senior
Mark Garceau (Lebanon, NJ/North Hunterdon) finished nineteenth in the 5000m with a season best time of 18:04.23. Sophomore
Kevin Mason (Galloway, NJ/Holy Spirit) finished sixteenth in the 400m dash with a new personal best time of 1:02.47.
The 4x100m Relay composed of Catalano, Mason, Quomony, and Banton finished fifth in a time of 48.30. The 4x400m Relay composed of Catalano, Mallery, Mason, and Garceau finished sixth in a time of 4:03.66.
The Hawks will be back in action next Friday and Saturday on April 22 and 23, for the SUNY Cortland Classic hosted by SUNY Cortland in Cortland, NY.
