Northampton, MA- The Hartwick Men's Outdoor Track & Field team kicked off the 2022 Outdoor Track and Field season today at the Carla Coffey Invitational. The meet was hosted by Smith College at their nine lane outdoor track and field complex. The Hawks battled on and off torrential rain to complete their first meet of the spring season.
Sophomore
Armani Banton (Beacon, NY/Marlboro) finished second in the pole vault with a vault of 2.90 meters. Freshman
Corey Quomony (Aberdeen, MD/Bel Air) finished first in long jump with a jump of 5.21 meters. Senior
Caleb Mallery (Endicott, NY/Union Endicott) finished ninth in the 5000m with a time of 17:22.10. Sophomore
Ross Arvin (Richmondville, NY/Cobleskill-Richmondville) finished sixth in the shot put with a throw of 9.65 meters and fourth in the javelin with a toss of 17.93 meters.
Sophomore
Joe Catalano (Chester, NY/Chester) finished second in the 400m with a time of 54.31. Freshman
Aidan Freda (Westtown, NY/Minisink Valley) finished first in the 3000m steeplechase in a time of 11:46.10. Senior
Sean Waltman (Sayre, PA/Athens) finished first in the pole vault with a vault of 2.90 meters. Senior
Mark Garceau (Lebanon, NJ/North Hunterdon) finished second in the 5000m with a time of 19:05.78. Sophomore
Kevin Mason (Galloway, NJ/Holy Spirit) finished sixth in the 200m dash with a new personal best time of 25.76. Senior
Will May (Bethel Park, PA/Bethel Park) finished third in the 5000m with a time of 21:18.25.
The 4x100m Relay composed of Catalano, Quomony, Waltman, and Banton finished first in a season best time of 47.59. The 4x400m Relay composed of Catalano, Mason, Freda and Mallery finished second in a season best time of 3:56.66.
The Hawks will be back in action next Saturday on April 16, for the Upstate Alternative Meet hosted by SUNY Cortland in Cortland, NY.
