Rochester, NY- The Hartwick Men's Outdoor Track & Field team was in action today for day one of the 2022 Empire 8 Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The meet is being hosted by Nazareth College at their Stadium Track and Field complex. The men's team is currently placed seventh in team scoring.
Freshman
Aidan Freda (Westtown, NY/Minisink Valley) finished sixth in the 3000m steeplechase in a season best time of 11:22.99. Senior
Sean Waltman (Sayre, PA/Athens) finished twelfth in the 110m high hurdles in a season best time of 19.61. Sophomore
Armani Banton (Beacon, NY/Marlboro) finished nineteenth in the 100m dash with a time of 11.86. Banton and Waltman also competed in pole vault.
Freshman
Corey Quomony (Aberdeen, MD/Bel Air) finished teenth in long jump with a season best jump of 5.84 meters. Sophomore
Joe Catalano (Chester, NY/Chester) finished ninth in the 400m with a time of 54.01. Senior
Mark Garceau (Lebanon, NJ/North Hunterdon) finished fourteenth in the 10000m with a new personal best time of 36:51.30. Senior
Caleb Mallery (Endicott, NY/Union Endicott) finished sixteenth in the 10000m with a time of 37:36.13.
The 4x800m Relay composed of Freda, Sophomore
Kevin Mason (Galloway, NJ/Holy Spirit), Catalano, and Junior
Chisomaga Emeh (Lagos, Nigeria/Jesuit Memorial College) finished sixth in a season best time of 10:35.71.
The Hawks will be back in action tomorrow, Saturday May 7, for the final day of the 2022 Empire 8 Outdoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Nazareth College in Rochester, NY.
