ONEONTA, N.Y. – Hartwick College Executive Director of Athletics, Paul Vecchio has announced the addition of Patrick Madden as the department's new Head Strength and Conditioning Coach.
 
Madden comes to Hartwick after serving as the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at The College of St. Rose.  While at St. Rose, Madden designed and implemented all strength and conditioning programs for the department's athletic programs.
 
Prior to his time at St. Rose, he served as the Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at Union College.  Madden has also served as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor at both the Rudy A. Ciccotti Family Recreation Center in Colonie, New York and Full Circle Fitness in Albany, New York.
 
"I am very excited to have Patrick join our team in an extremely important role in the success of our programs," commented Vecchio.  "His background and experience will be a tremendous asset to our student-athletes in the areas of strength, nutrition and well-being as we seek to compete for Empire 8 championships."
 
Madden addressed his hiring saying, "I'm thrilled to be officially brought on as the Strength and Conditioning Coach here at Hartwick.  I would like to extend my appreciation to Paul Vecchio for providing me with the opportunity to prepare the Hartwick student-athletes for competition."
 
Madden graduated from Arizona State University in 2024 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science.  He holds a Master of Science degree in Applied Exercise Science from Concordia University of Chicago and is certified by the NSCA as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist and Tactical Strength and Conditioning Facilitator.
