PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The Hartwick Hawks Women's Track and Field program began their championship quest, competing in Day 1 of the 2024 Empire 8 Outdoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by St. John Fisher.

Hartwick got their afternoon started with Stephanie Cohen (Westtown, N.Y.) placing fifth in the 100 meter hurdles event, clocking in at 16.76 seconds, qualifying for finals.

Destiny Carter (Rensselaer, N.Y.) and Giovanna Wall (West Hurley, N.Y.) competed in the 100 meter event, crossing the finish line at respective times of 13.96 seconds and 14.01 seconds.

The 4x800 was completed by the grouping of Sophia Kehr (Charlotte, Vt.), Sophie Ridgway (Albany, N.Y.), Taylor Stalker (Lowville, N.Y.) and Brynita Haas (Red Creek, N.Y.), timing in at 11:51.26.

Maddy Smith (Oneonta, N.Y.) represented the Hawks in the 10,000 meter event, completing the race with a finishing mark of 45:10.57.

Atti Dinsmore (Burkburnett, Tex.) scored 27.40 in the javelin event to cap off Day 1 of competition.
