UTICA, N.Y. - The Hartwick Outdoor Track and Field program returned to Utica University, posting yet another solid effort at the Pioneer Spring Invite.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW - Women's Recap

• The Women's 4x100 marked the start of the day for Hartwick as the combo of Giovanna Wall (West Hurley, N.Y.), Molly Corbett (Kings Park, N.Y.), Maiya King (Morris, NY) and Pepita Graham (Schenectady, N.Y.) combined for a time of 55.37 seconds, snagging second place to start the day.

• Pepita Graham (Schenectady, N.Y.) got the Hawks started on the right foot,  setting a season best in the 100 meter event, timing in at 13.62 seconds, earning 12th place.

• Wall shined in the field events, setting two new personal bests in the hammer throw and the shot put events. Giovanna took 19th place in the hammer throw event, setting a season best with a marking of 99.7 feet.

• Giovanna Wall then set her personal best in the shot put event, recording a final marking of 33.3 feet, earning her an 8th place finish to wrap up her stellar day.

• King set a personal record in the pole vault event, recording a final measurement of seven feet and six and half inches.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW - Men's Recap

• The Men began their day with a solid showing in the 100 meter event as three Hawks set new personal records in the event to start the day with momentum.

• Cody Bazemore (Bel Air, Md.) led the flock, setting his personal record with an 11.14 second finish, taking second place in the event.

• Patrick Conteh (Salisbury, Md.) was next to cross the finish line, taking tenth place with an 11.49 second finish to set his new personal best.

• Josh Worrell (White Plains, N.Y.) rounded out the solid showing for the Hawks in the 100 meter, timing in at 11.57 seconds to grab 13th place and a new personal record.

• Bazemore kept rolling, taking second place in the 200 meter with a new personal record, clocking in at 23.01 seconds to wrap up the great day for Bazemore.

• Worrell carried the momentum from his 100 meter and set a personal best in the 200 meter as well, taking fifth place with a final mark of 23.44 seconds.

• Marquis Jones-McKinney (Astoria, N.Y.) was next to set a new personal record, cruising through the 200 meter event in 24.49 seconds to take 24th place.

• Larry McCumiskey (Delhi, N.Y.) keeps on improving in his debut season, setting a new season best in the 1500 meter event, crossing the finish line with a final time of four minutes and 49.98 seconds.

The Hawks will head back to SUNY Cortland, competing in the two day Cortland Classic, beginning on Friday, April 18th at 2PM.
