Women's Track and Field Concludes Empire 8 Championships

PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The Hartwick Hawks Women's Track and Field concluded the 2024 Empire 8 Outdoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by St. John Fisher.

 

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

  • The Hawks began their morning with the 4x100 relay event. Giovanna Wall (West Hurley, N.Y.), Destiny Carter (Rensselaer, N.Y.), Molly Corbett (Kings Park, N.Y.), and Atti Dinsmore (Burkburnett, Tex.) combined for a time of 54.30, just .4 seconds behind Alfred.

  • Stephanie Cohen (Westtown, N.Y.) qualified for the 100 meter hurdles final yesterday with a 5th place finish. Cohen placed 8th in the finals, clocking in at 22.34 seconds.

  • Brynita Haas (Red Creek, N.Y.) placed 12th in the 5000 meter event, crossing the finish line in 19 minutes and 45 seconds.

  • The 4x400 marked the final track event for the team as Wall, Dinsmore, Carter, and Cohen joined forces for a finishing mark of four minutes and twenty seven seconds, earning 6th place.

  • Wall capped off the 2024 Empire 8 Outdoor Track and Field Championships with a 13th place finish in shot put, scoring 9.37.

UP NEXT FOR THE HAWKS

The Hawks will prepare for the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships on May 15-16th, hosted by SUNY Cortland.
