Durkin and Jones-McKinney Selected as Hawks of the Week

Macy Durkin (Syracuse, N.Y.) and Marquis Jones-McKinney (Astoria, N.Y.) were named Hawks of the Week following standout performances this past week, marking the first weekly honor of 2026 for both student-athletes.

Durkin continues to make her presence felt all over the hardwood, recently securing the 500th rebound of her collegiate career from the guard position. During Friday night's matchup against defending Empire 8 champion Geneseo, Durkin pulled down five rebounds to reach the milestone.

The junior has been a force all season, currently averaging a double-double with 11.5 points and 10.1 rebounds per game. Durkin has recorded five double-doubles on the year, with her rebounding average ranking third in the Empire 8 and first among conference guards. Her career-high 21-rebound performance against SUNY Morrisville also stands as the second-highest single-game total in the conference this season.

The Hartwick women's basketball team will close out their final regular season homestand, hosting Keuka on Friday, February 6 at 5:30 p.m. and Elmira on Saturday, February 7 at 2 p.m.

Jones-McKinney impressed at Nazareth's Conference Challenge Cup on Saturday, clearing a personal-best 1.93 meters (6 feet, 4 inches) in the high jump to earn a second-place finish. The mark surpassed his previous best by more than two inches and secured qualification for the upcoming All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference (AARTFC) Regional Championships.

Hartwick track and field will travel to Utica University for the Blue & Orange Invitational and Multi on February 6–7. The women's pentathlon and men's heptathlon will begin Friday at 5 p.m., with all remaining events slated to start Saturday at 11 a.m.
