ITHACA, NY – The Hartwick Women's Indoor Track & Field team kicked off the 2020 season today at the Southern Tier Collegiate Open hosted by Cornell University. 
           
Senior captain Tylisha Gourdine (Holly Springs, NC/Watertown) placed third in the 60m hurdles in a time of 11.38 and fifth in the 200m dash in a time of 30.17. Senior Charlotte Lee (Laurens, NY/Laurens) finished fourth in the 400m in a time of 1:07.65 and sixth in the 200m dash in a time of 30.48. Freshman Vasiliki Drapaniotis (New Berlin, NY/Gilbertsville-Mt. Upton) placed ninth in long jump with a mark 4.20 meters.
           
Sophomore Annie Sullivan (Derry, NH/Pinkerton Academy) finished third in the 500 in a time of 1:37.16 and first in the 800m in a time of 3:19.89. Freshman Kaylee Amoriell (Peru, NY/Peru) was sixth in the 3000m in a time of 13:19.47. Sophomore Anne Baskwill (York, PA/York Suburban) finished seventh in the 3000m in a time of 13:52.81. Freshman Khadijah Fox (Forrest Hills, NY/Forrest Hills) finished twelfth in the 60m in a time of 9.68 and thirteenth in 200m with a time of 32.64.
           
Senior Abby Meltzer (Holliston, PA/Holliston) took eighth in the 3000m in 15:13.38. Sophomore Taylor King (Rock Hill, NY/Monticello) ended up fifth in the mile in a time of 6:48.25. Freshman Aaliyah Solis-Castillo (Pasadena, CA/Alverno) was second in the 800m in a time of 3:24.0. Freshman Alyssa Vellekoop (Altamont, NY/Guilderland Central) competed in the pole vault.
           
Junior Lissa Westerman (Newport Beach, CA/Newport Harbor) placed fourth in the shot put with a throw of 8.70 meters and fourth in the weight throw with a toss of 6.39 meters. Junior Hayley Hill (Fort Lauderdale, FL/Fort Lauderdale) finished fifth in the shot put with a new personal best throw of 8.13 meters.  Freshman Ashtyn Allen (Athens, PA/Athens) registered a sixth-place finish in the shot put with a throw of 6.67 meters and fifth in the weight throw with a toss of 5.43 meters.
           
Sophomore Skylar Watts (Rome, NY/Vernon-Vernoa-Sherrill) took thirteenth in the 60m dash in a time of 9.82 and eighth in the 200m with a time of 33.33.
           
The women's 4x400m relay team composed of Lee, Fox, Gourdine, and Watts finished third in a time of 5:01.54. The women's 4x800m relay composed of Sullivan, Baskwill, Solis-Castillo, and King, finished in third place in a time of 13:06.32. 
           
The Hawks will next be in action on Saturday January 18 at the Utica College Invitational in Utica, NY.
