CLINTON, N.Y. – The Hartwick's Women's Outdoor Track and Field team began their 2023 season on Saturday in the Hamilton College Continental Invitational at the Pritchard Track. They joined a competitive field composed of 12 teams total.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
On The Track:
- Brynita Haas (Red Creek, N.Y.) placed 3rd in the 5000m with a time of 20:20.16. She was joined by Maddy Smith (Oneonta, N.Y.) and Sophie Ridgway (Albany, N.Y.) who finished 6th, and 8th respectively in the same event.
- Prior to the 5000m, Hass and Smith finished 21st and 22nd respectively in the Women's 1500m.
- Ashley Tricarico (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) finished 6th in the Women's 400m with a time of 1:05.82. She also competed in the 200m later in the day in which she finished 3rd in her heat and 15th overall.
On The Field:
- Ashley Neier (Whitesboro, N.Y.) finished 12th in the Long Jump jumping 13 ft 4 and ¾ inches. Her jump was an outdoor personal best.
- Giovanna Wall (West Hurley, N.Y.) competed in both the Shot Put and Javelin Throw. She finished 16th and 18th respectively in those events.
UP NEXT FOR THE HAWKS
The Women will travel to Utica to compete in the Utica Pioneer Spring Invitational at Utica's Pioneer Turf and Track and Field Complex. The competition is both Friday and Saturday, April 7th and 8th.
