Cortland, NY – The SUNY Cortland Stadium Complex hosted the Cortland Upstate Alternative Invitational this Saturday. The Hartwick Women's Track and Field team competed against 12 other teams across several divisions of collegiate athletics and put together a variety of outstanding performances throughout the day.
On The Track

Brynita Haas (Red Creek, N.Y) finished 3rd in an extremely competitive 5000m race. She was only 4 seconds behind the winner and throughout the race was in second place before hanging on for 3rd in the final lap.

Giovanna Wall (West Hurley, N.Y.) ran a huge personal best in the 100m hurdles running 17.94 seconds. She dropped nearly a full second off her previous best performance, running away with the win in her heat, and finishing 7th overall in the competition.

Ashley Tricarico (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) came away with a pair of personal best times in the 400m and 200m. She sprinted one lap of the track in 1:05.31, and half a lap of the track in 27.70 seconds. Her marks placed her 7th and 8th respectively in those events.

Sophie Ridgway (Albany, N.Y.) ran the 1500m and finished 16th in the event.
On The Field

Atti Dinsmore (Burkburnett, Tex.) and Wall finished 8th and 9th respectively in the Javelin.

Along with the Javelin, Wall placed 13th out of 23 throwers in the Shot Put.

Ashley Neier (Whitesboro, N.Y.) and Dinsmore finished 13th and 15th respectively in the Long Jump.
UP NEXT FOR THE HAWKS
The Hawks will return to SUNY Cortland for the Cortland Classic on Friday and Saturday April 21st and 22nd. The competition will be held at SUNY Cortland's Stadium Complex.
