Indoor Track and Field Competes at Cornell's Upstate Challenge


ITHACA, N.Y. - The Hartwick Indoor Track and Field program competed in the Upstate Challenge, competing amongst several Division I programs.

 

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

  • The Hawks began their afternoon with the Men's 60 meter race as Cody Bazemore (Bel Air, Md.) was the Hawks top finisher, clocking in at 7.21 seconds.

  • Giovanna Wall (West Hurley, N.Y.) was the lone Hawk in the Women's 60 meter race, finishing in 9.08 seconds.

  • Devon Spalding (Mineola, N.Y.) completed the Men's mile in five minutes and fourteen seconds, ranking first among the Hawks.

  • Addison Shank (Emmaus, Pa.) represented the Hawks in the Women's mile, crossing the finish line in six minutes and 36 seconds.

  • Will Mensah (Cliffwood, N.J.) competed in the Men's 400 meter, registering a finishing mark of 54.91 seconds.

  • Larry McCumiskey (Delhi, N.Y.) posted a finishing mark of one minute and 20 seconds in the Men's 500 meter race.

  • Bazemore continues to impress in his debut season, placing 8th in the 200 meter with a time of 23.38 seconds.

  • Atti Dinsmore (Burkburnett, Tex.) was the lead finisher for the Hawks in the Women's 200 meter, clocking in at 30.48 seconds.

  • Julia Weinschreider (Williamson, N.Y.) capped off the individual events for Hartwick in the Women's 3000 meter race, timing in at 11 minutes and 54 seconds.

  • Noah Curtis (Clinton Corners, N.Y.) and Jason Malinowski (Warners, N.Y.) posted strong performances in the Men's weight throw, posting respective scores of 9.25 and 9.17.

  • Corey Quomony (Aberdeen, Md.) scored 5.95 in the Men's long jump event and Maiya King (Morris, N.Y.) scored 4.07 in the Women's long jump.

  • Wall posted a strong performance in the Women's shot put with a score of 9.5 to end her day.

  • Iona Stum (Oreland, Pa.) and Cora Zahn (Queensbury, N.Y.) also did well in the Women's shot put, scoring 7.52 and 5.20 to end the solid day for the Hawks.

UP NEXT FOR THE HAWKS

The Hawks will head back to Houghton University for the Highlander Invitational on Saturday, January 25th at 10:30 AM.
