UTICA, N.Y. - The Hartwick Indoor Track and Field program completed Day One of the 2024-25 Empire 8 Indoor Track and Field Championship, hosted by Utica University.

The Hawks opened up their championship quest with the Men's 60 meter race, Cody Bazemore (Bel Air, Md.) represented the Royal Blue and White with an 11th place finish, clocking in at 7.18 seconds.

Molly Corbett (Kings Park, N.Y.) posted a 10.49 second finish in the Women's 60 meter hurdle event, placing 16th.

Montesano kept the Hawks rolling, collecting a final mark of 9.03 seconds to place 11th in the Men's 60 meter hurdle event.

Patrick Conteh (Salisbury, Md.) competed in the Men's 400 meter event, timing in at 54.61 seconds, taking 17th place.

The 5000 meter race marked the final individual event of Day One as Brynita Haas (Red Creek, N.Y.) was the lone Hawk in the event, crossing the finish line at 19 minutes and 29 seconds, taking 14th place.

Julia Weinschreider (Williamson, N.Y.), Giovanna Wall (West Hurley, N.Y.), Addison Shank (Emmaus, Pa.), and Haas wrapped up their day with the distance medley, timing in at 14 minutes and 35 seconds.

Larry McCumiskey (Delhi, N.Y.), Will Mensah (Cliffwood, N.J.), Kevin Cando (Liberty, N.Y.), Devon Spalding (Mineola, N.Y.) combined for a 12 minute and eight second finish in the distance medley.

Bazemore and Corey Quomony (Aberdeen, Md.) kicked off field events for the Hawks with the long jump event, Bazemore scored 6.32, taking 11th and Quomony scored 6.06, taking 18th.

Wall wrapped up the field event with the Women's shot put, scoring 9.60.
