Hartwick Athletics Hall of Fame
Aileen McCarthy ’10 is the first equestrian scholar athlete to be inducted into the Hartwick Athletics Hall of Fame. She competed for four seasons from 2006-07 to 2009-10 for the Hawks, helping them to 3rd place rankings in the region in each of her first two campaigns. In the spring of her sophomore season, McCarthy became the first Hawk to qualify for the IHSA National Championships by placing second in intermediate fences at the Zone II competition in Saratoga Springs, NY. Nearly a month later on May 8, 2008 in Burbank, CA, with the top two contestants from each of the nation’s nine zones competing, McCarthy became the first national champion in the program’s history. She would close out her career at ’Wick with a pair of appearances in the regionals in each of her junior and senior campaigns.
