He was named the Super Six lacrosse conference Rookie of the Year as a freshman in 1997, and was a first-team All-Star selection in the Super Six and Empire 8 as a junior and senior. A defender who was known for his ability to lock down the opponent's top scorer, he ranks second all-time at Hartwick with 342 career ground balls.

He was a team captain in both his junior and senior seasons, and was selected to play in the North-South All-Star game after his senior year.

DeGregorio twice won Hartwick's M. Beale Banks award, one of the school's highest athletic honors, given annually to the athlete who pursues excellence in their sports and inspires others with their dedication and commitment.
