Kmosko played four seasons of soccer at Hartwick, from 1990-94. He was named team captain for the 1994 season, when the Hawks posted an 11-5-3 record.

Overall, Hartwick tallied a 41-27-8 record in Kmosko's four years.

He played in five matches with the US National Team in 1992. He was also a member of the US National "B" Team and played in the 1993 World University Games.

In July of 1991 he was the captain for the bronze-medal-winning East team at the US Olympic Festival.

In 1995, he started his professional career with the USISL's New York Fever, where he earned Northeast Region Rookie of the Year honors.
