Hartwick Athletics Hall of Fame
Kelly James Huhtala was selected as just the second All-American in the history of Hartwick College women's basketball. A two-time Empire Athletic Association player of the year as a junior and senior, James was an honorable mention All America pick as a senior when she averaged more than 17 points and 12 rebounds per game. She was the ECAC Upstate New York Rookie of the year as a freshman.
She graduated as the second-leading scorer in the history of Hartwick women's basketball with 1,529 points. At the time of her induction she ranks third in career rebounding, and in the top 10 in career steals and assists. She led the women's basketball team to three straight NYSWCAA tournaments, and back-to-back 20-win seasons.
She was the school's freshman female athlete of the year in 1990, and twice won the school's M. Beale Banks Award, given annually to the athlete who pursues excellence in their sports and inspires others with their dedication and commitment.
