Eddie Austin was a 1971 All-American and ranked sixth on Hartwick's career assist chart with 20 at the time of his induction.

A captain his junior and senior seasons, Austin finished his career with 21 goals. He had five game-winning goals and was the leading scorer during his All-American season.

Austin helped Hartwick to a 44-10-5 record and three NCAA Tournament appearances in four years. He was a three-time Hartwick Indoor Tournament MVP and was selected to the Senior Bowl Game in 1973. Austin also won the Harry Mosher Award as a senior.

Austin played for the North American Soccer League's Tampa Bay Rowdies and was a member of the 1975 NASL Championship team. He was inducted into the Rowdies Hall of Fame in 1986.

At the time of his induction, Austin was the Chief Operating Officer of the Tampa Bay Mutiny of Major League Soccer. He was named MLS Operations Executive of the Year in 1998. Austin also served as game producer for World Cup USA in 1994 and the 1996 Olympics.
