Papadakis was named as an All-American for three consecutive years from 1968-70. He is the only Hartwick soccer player to earn All-American status three times.

During that span he led Hartwick to three consecutive NCAA Tournament berths, capped with the school's first appearance in the Final Four in 1970. He graduated in second place on the school's career points and goals lists, behind only his brother, Nick.

Papadakis set the school record for points in a single season with 56 in 1970. In four years at Hartwick, Papadakis played on teams that posted a mark of 44-7-1.
