Hartwick Athletics Hall of Fame
Iain Fraser earns automatic induction to the Hartwick College Athletic Hall of Fame by virtue of his participation with the Canadian National Soccer team.
Fraser played on three NCAA tournament teams at Hartwick, playing in the Final Four in both 1984 and 1985.
Primarily a defender, Fraser took a more active role offensively during his senior year, netting six goals and seven assists. During his four-year career, Hartwick posted a record of 59 wins, 17 losses and four ties.
Fraser has enjoyed a lengthy professional soccer career. He has played for several teams in the Canadian Soccer League, as well as indoors and outdoors in the United States. He was a three time all-Major Indoor Soccer League selection with the Kansas City Comets and played on the 1993 National Professional Soccer League champions, the KC Attack.
He has also been an NPSL and CISL all-star. He played with the Colorado Foxes as they won the A-League title in 1993.
Fraser was the fifth player selected overall in the inaugural Major League Soccer draft, and played for the New England Revolution in 1996 before returning to professional soccer in Canada.
He has earned 28 caps playing for the Canadian National Soccer team, and at the time of induction was a member of the Canadian National Team as they attempted to qualify for the 1998 World Cup.
