Hartwick Athletics Hall of Fame
Lewis graduated from Hartwick in 1960 as the all-time leading scorer in Hartwick basketball history with 1,512 points, a record that stood until 1983.
Lewis led the team in scoring each of his four years and was named captain for his junior and senior years. The team compiled a 47-29 record in Lewis' four seasons.
Widely considered as one of the top players in the history of Hartwick basketball, Lewis died in a plane crash at the age of 33. In his memory, Hartwick annually gives an award to the top senior male basketball player in Lewis' name.
