Bronwen Knox ’08 is one of the most dominant water polo players to ever wear the Blue and White in Moyer Pool. She is the only player in the history of the program to earn second team All-America honors from the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC). She helped guide the Hawks to a record of 56-20, two CWPA Northern Division titles, a CWPA Eastern crown, and a sixth-place finish at the 2006 NCAA Division I Championships.
Following her freshman campaign, she was the CWPA Northern and Eastern Championships Rookie of the Year, a first team CWPA Northern and Eastern selection, and was an AWPCA Honorable Mention All-American. In 2006, Knox led the country in scoring with 127 tallies and was later named Most Valuable Player of both the Northern Division and Eastern Championships. She also earned AWPCA All-Academic team honors and received second team All-America accolades.
Knox still ranks 5th in both career goals (229) and steals (209), and 8th in points (286) in the Hartwick record books. Her 127 goals and 117 steals in 2006 remain all-time program single-season highs.
Since Hartwick, Knox has been a mainstay on the Australian National Team, leading her country to a gold medal at the 2006 FINA World Cup and silver medals at the 2007 World Championships, the 2010 World Cup, and the 2010 World League Super Finals.
In the summer of 2012, Knox tallied four goals to help Australia to a bronze medal at the London Olympics. She also aided in securing her country a bronze at the Beijing Olympics in 2008 after registering 12 goals.
