Following graduation from Hartwick, Bradley embarked on a long and successful coaching career. After fielding quality teams at Norwich High School, Bradley returned to his alma mater in 1947, posting three consecutive winning seasons.
His 1948-49 team finished 17-5, marking the first back-to-back winning seasons in Hartwick history. Bradley's three years on the hill marked the turning point for Hartwick basketball.
Prior to his arrival, the Hawks had just six winning seasons in 18 years of competition. In the 50 seasons from Bradley's arrival to the time of induction, Hartwick basketball has had 46 winning seasons.
Bradley left Hartwick to take the reins of the Duke University program, where he had nine consecutive winning seasons, winning two ACC titles and guiding the Blue Devils to their first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance.
Bradley finished his collegiate coaching career with eight seasons at Texas, where he led the Longhorns to two NCAA Tournament berths.
In 20 years as a collegiate coach, Bradley's teams won 339 games while losing 169. He never coached a collegiate team that finished with a sub- .500 record.
