Kate Chambers '05, who hails from Wellington, New Zealand, is one of the most prolific point producers in Hartwick water polo history.

The two-time American Water Polo Coaches Association All-American ranks second in the Hartwick record books in career assists (202), points (399), and fourth in goals scored (197). She also ranks second in program history in career steals (218).

Chambers excelled in the classroom, as she was a four-time member of the AWCPA All-Academic Team and a John Christopher Hartwick Scholar. In 2001, Chambers represented the New Zealand Junior National Team at the FINA Junior World Championships, helping the team to a record 6th place finish in international competition.

Over the course of her career in the pool with the Hawks, she was a two-time Eastern Championships First Team All-Star and was selected as a CWPA Northern Division All-Star three times, culminating with division player of the year honors in her senior campaign.

Chambers led Hartwick water polo to a record of 112 victories and just 38 defeats in her four seasons, including four northern division titles, an eastern championship, and one appearance in the NCAA Tournament.

In 2004, she helped Hartwick to a fourth place finish at the national championships as a second team all-tournament pick and led Hartwick to program records of 33 victories and 17 consecutive wins.

In 2005, she was named the NCAA Woman of the Year for the state of New York.
